Twenty Seven came into our rescue program on February 15, 2019. Twenty Seven came into our rescue program from the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office along with 27 other horses as a cruelty case. Many of the horses were unhandled prior to the seizure. The court awarded that 14 horses could be returned to the owner. Twenty Seven is a Beautiful, Bay, Thoroughbred, Mare. Twenty Seven is estimated to be 2 years of age upon arrival into our program. Twenty Seven is a sweet girl but tends to be aloof. Once caught, she is super sweet. She will take some time to gain trust but has so much potential. Twenty Seven is going to be a big girl. Twenty Seven had an open wound injury to her knee upon arrival the day of the seizure. She had not been previously handled, so when volunteers tried to catch her, she ran and jumped the fence. When she jumped the fence, she further injured herself, resulting in degloving her knee. She has healed remarkably well. Thankfully, she did not injure her tendons or joints. She has no signs of lameness but will have an enlarged knee. She was in good body condition upon arrival. She was Infested with internal/external parasites. She is going to make someone a super nice horse with the right amount of time and training. Twenty Seven has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please submit an adoption application or call/text/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Twenty Seven.

Twenty Seven was picked for our 10th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainer Challenge. She was chosen by Trainer Christa Caho Smith. Twenty Seven did a great job at this year's 10th Annual Blaze's Ride to the Rescue Trainers Challenge. Twenty Seven is available for adoption. She has been through extensive training, but she is not a finished horse. She needs someone that can continue to work with her and keep her going under saddle and take her to that next level of training. She has a lot of potential and with the right amount of time and training, could easily be a performance horse. Twenty Seven is a sweet girl and loves attention. Twenty Seven has a current negative coggins, up to date on vaccinations, deworming and hoof maintenance. If you are interested in adopting this gorgeous girl, please submit an adoption application or text/call/email to schedule an appointment to come visit Twenty Seven.

Update November 2023 Twenty Seven has sadly returned to our program at no fault of her own. We found Twenty Seven being auctioned off at the Tulsa Stockyards in thin condition and immediately went into action to make sure she came back to us and not continued to be flipped from person to person. Twenty Seven is an amazing horse that deserves so much better than what she has been dealt. We trusted that she was being adopted to a wonderful family, only to find that she was sold and then that individual sold her in auction. Twenty Seven is now 6 years of age. She stands for the farrier and loads in a trailer. She is broke to ride! We are giving Twenty Seven some time to gain her weight back and look as good as she did before she left. We will update soon with her adoption status. In the meantime, please consider making a donation towards Twenty Seven's rehabilitation.

Please call, text or email to schedule an appointment to visit the horses currently available in our rescue program. We are generally available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! Please be patient with us and we will return your call/text/email as soon as possible.
